Grant McFarland is a Board Certified Personal Injury Trial Lawyer with over 29 years of courtroom experience. In both 2018 and 2019, Grant was selected by his peers in San Antonio as a Top Personal Injury Lawyer for both Plaintiff and Defense, as published in the September 2018 issue of San Antonio Scene magazine. He has tried more than 50 cases to verdict in state and federal courts across Texas, from Crystal City to Dallas, and Del Rio to Lufkin. His trial experience includes product liability, trucking accidents, will contests, breach of contract, asbestos litigation, personal injury, wrongful termination, defamation, business disputes, collection matters and malicious prosecution. Grant has significant experience representing numerous Fortune 500 Companies in litigation across the United States, including automobile, motorcycle and recreational sports product manufacturers. He has maintained an Av® Preeminent™ Rating from Martindale Hubbell for over 18 years and has been selected for Best Lawyers in America® every year since 2010.
An lowa native, Grant moved to San Antonio in 1983 to attend Trinity University on an academic scholarship and graduated cum laude. He graduated from the University of Texas School of Law in 1991, and has practiced trial law from his home base in San Antonio ever since.
Grant serves on various committees and boards in local government, and is an active fundraiser for his kids' schools. His interests outside work include spending time with his wife, three teenagers, and three dogs; cooking; BBQing; jogging; bird hunting; fresh water fishing; live music and wakeboarding.
As part of his continuing volunteer efforts, Grant is working with the San Antonio Legal Services Association (SALSA) with the COVID-19 Remote Wills for Healthcare Workers. This program provides free wills, powers of attorney, medical directives and similar documents for those on the front line of the COVID-19 fight in Bexar County.
